Video Technicians – Midlands & the North

NDC are currently looking to recruit Video Technicians in the following offices:

• Midlands – covering the Midlands, Wales, East Anglia and the South West.
• North – covering South Yorkshire, North Yorkshire, North East and North West.

Job Description

The Video Site Technicians will be site based in the Midlands and Northern office, however assistance to other offices would be required.

The candidate will be required to install survey equipment using a series of high-mast CCTV and ANPR technology for temporary roadside surveys; full training will be given.

Daytime / evening / night shift work will be required on a regular basis and weekend work would also be required when necessary.

The candidate will be responsible for the Health & Safety of themselves and those affected by the equipment used, and should be aware of the safety considerations associated with working on a live highway, as well as the quality assurance and checking of site works. Full Health & Safety training will be given.

The candidate will ensure timely, accurate, full and robust data collection during live surveys.

The candidate will provide detailed and accurate site paperwork.

Qualities and skills;

High level of attention to detail and accuracy. With a good standard of level of numeracy and basic IT skills.

Have a basic understanding of the Health & Safety to install equipment on-site while working on a live highway.

Be able to understand and follow company procedures.

Be able, organised, conscientious, motivated and flexible to meet deadlines and produce high quality work.

Must be able to work as part of a team and follow instructions but also be confident to work individually.

Appreciation, respect and care of equipment used on a daily basis.

Must have a Full clean UK driving license held for over 3 years.

Salary – £9.00 per hour plus 23 days annual leave and public holidays.  A performance and pay review will be held after the first 3 months.

ATC Technician – Midlands

NDC are currently looking to recruit Automatic Traffic Count Technicians in the following office:

• Midlands – covering the Midlands, Wales, East Anglia and the South West.

Job Description

The ATC Technician will be site based in the West Midlands but working throughout the UK covering the Midlands, South West, Eastern regions and Wales. Assistance to other offices would be required.

The candidate will be required to install Metrocount Automatic Traffic Counting (ATC) equipment for temporary roadside surveys, full training will be provided.

The candidate would be expected to work flexible hours. With daytime / evening work as standard, and be available for night work and weekend work should this be required.

The candidate will be responsible for their own Health and Safety and those affected by the equipment used, as well as the quality assurance and checking of site works.

The candidate will be responsible for the safe installation of equipment and to make sure it is installed in a way that accurate data can be provided. Where a technical issue arises on site this should be reported to the office and staff should stay on site till it has been resolved.

The candidate will ensure timely, accurate, full and robust data collection during all surveys.

The candidate will deal with other colleagues, clients and members the public in a sensitive and professional manner.

The candidate will report to the ATC Manager and be expected to provide detailed and accurate site paperwork and site photographs.

Qualities and Skills

Confidence to handle power tools and install equipment on site

Be able to understand and follow company procedures.

Show willingness to learn new skills.

Must have a Full clean UK driving license held for over 3 years.

A good level of numeracy, map reading and IT skills with basic knowledge of MS Office packages; Particularly Outlook and Excel.

Salary – £9.00 per hour plus 23 days annual leave and public holidays.  A performance and pay review will be held after the first 3 months.

Desirables (but not essential as full training will be provided)

City and Guilds Streetworks signing, lighting and guarding.

Lantra Awards 12A/12B for static temporary traffic management on motorways and high speed dual carriageways.

First Aid Certification.
